How to care for towels to make them last longer
Washing temperature: 40°C for regular use; 60°C for more intense sanitizing. Avoid 90°C, as it wears out fibers and shrinks the fabric.
Fabric softener: use sparingly. Softener reduces fiber absorption over time, especially in cotton towels. Alternate washes with and without it.
Drying: if you use a dryer, use low or medium heat. Excess heat makes fibers curl and lose volume. Shake the towel before hanging to restore its fluffy look.
When to replace: a good towel lasts 2 to 3 years with daily use. The sign it's time: it loses softness even after washing, starts fraying at the edges, or no longer absorbs well.
