These general terms and conditions of sale aim to provide and define all necessary information to the user about the ordering, sale, payment, and delivery methods of purchases made on the gatopreto.com website. The seller of the products is Gato Preto, an autonomous entity and brand owner, responsible for product quality, warranty compliance, and logistics management. These general terms and conditions of sale are the only applicable ones and replace all others, except by prior express written agreement. By validating an order, the user accepts these general terms and conditions of sale.
Gato Preto is dedicated to selling decoration and furniture. The images of the products available on the site are as faithful as possible, aiming to reproduce the product exactly as it is in reality. Considering that some products are handmade, there may be slight differences between the image and the product itself, due to the raw materials and the production process.
The products available on the site are accessible to customers worldwide, except for specific logistical restrictions indicated at checkout.
To place an order, the user only needs to have an email account and follow these steps:
1. Select the products you wish to purchase and add them to the shopping cart;
2.Register or log in to your personal account, where you can at any time access and update your personal data and check the status of orders or returns;
3.Fill in all mandatory fields and select the desired payment option;
4.Accept the General Terms and Conditions of Sale and click on “Complete Purchase”;
5.At the end of the order, you will see a screen with the confirmation and details of the order. You will also receive an automatic email with this information.
By submitting your order, you accept these Terms and Conditions, as well as the Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policies found in the website footer.
Gato Preto reserves the right not to process orders without a guarantee of good payment, or if orders are incomplete or incorrect, or if the product is no longer available. In these cases, the user will be informed by email of the cancellation, and the amount paid will be refunded.
Gato Preto also reserves the right to cancel any order, even if successfully placed, in the following situations:
• Product unavailable (the amount paid will be refunded through the same payment method used);
• Incorrect billing information;
• Order payment not received within 8 business days after ordering;
• Product price error;
• Delivery of order not completed at the address indicated for shipping.
The assembly service for items can only be contracted directly with Gato Preto at the time of purchase, under the conditions expressly presented on the website. Gato Preto is not responsible for any assembly services contracted directly between the customer and the transport team members. These services are considered external to its scope of action and are entirely unrelated to the purchase contract made with Gato Preto.
It is the sole responsibility of the customer to ensure, prior to delivery, that the purchased items — namely sofas, large furniture, or other bulky items — have adequate conditions to access the interior of the residence, considering door measurements, stairs, elevators, and corridors..
If delivery is not possible due to lack of access conditions, the customer may choose to sign a delivery receipt assuming responsibility for any damages, or schedule a new delivery attempt, subject to payment of additional costs for the carrier's second trip.
Order fulfillment on the site is subject to product stock availability. If a product is out of stock, Gato Preto will send the available items and the customer will be refunded for the out-of-stock items.
Product prices are those published on the site, except in cases of obvious error. The site is updated daily; however, if the price information contains errors, Gato Preto will inform the user as soon as possible, giving the option to confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it with a full refund. The prices shown include Value Added Tax (VAT) or equivalent tax, according to the legislation applicable in the country where the order is placed. Shipping may have an additional cost calculated at checkout, depending on the destination country and the type of delivery selected. From a certain order value, shipping may be free, except for products with exclusive home delivery which, due to their characteristics, weight, or volume, have an associated delivery cost.
Gato Preto reserves the right to change prices without prior notice. The price displayed at the time of purchase is the price actually applied, except in cases of obvious error.
The site offers the following payment methods:
• VISA / MASTERCARD Credit Card;
• PayPal;
• MB WAY;
• Multibanco Reference (Portugal);
• SeQura — phased payment, no need to send documents, with immediate approval;
• Klarna — flexible payment from 3 to 12 months, with full control over dates and amounts.
Payments are processed in Euros (EUR) by CONFORT24 LDA, the platform's technical operator. The transaction may be identified by the customer's financial institution as an international operation, and additional fees charged by the respective bank or card operator may apply, over which Gato Preto and CONFORT24 LDA have no control or responsibility. After transaction confirmation, the amounts are transferred to Gato Preto.
Payment details are entered directly on a secure page of the electronic payment service provider. The invoice will be sent by email to the user, in PDF format, at the time of shipment/delivery of the order.
The order shipping process will begin after confirmation of successful payment of the respective order.

NOTE: We do not ship to the Canary Islands
For shipments to other countries, costs and delivery times will be calculated and presented at checkout, depending on the destination and the weight/volume of the order.
• Express — exclusive for small-sized items (max. 2m / 30kg individually).
• Light (Street Delivery) — delivered at the main door of the building or house. The customer is responsible for handling the product inside. Does not include assembly.
• Plus (Inside Home Delivery) — delivered inside the home, in a room of choice. May include assembly service.
The presented deadlines are merely indicative and only valid after confirmation of full payment. The final delivery date is confirmed by the carrier.
• Express — up to 4–5 business days (Mainland Portugal). For islands, the timeframe depends on external factors related to transportation.
• Light and Plus — items with exclusive home delivery (sofas, furniture, and large volumes) may have different lead times. Sofas can take up to 30–60 business days. During promotional periods, this time may be longer.
The carrier informs the user by SMS or email of the expected delivery date, allowing the date to be changed or the option to pick up at a nearby collection point. Upon receipt, the customer must confirm the entire order in the presence of the carrier. In case of defect, damage, or incorrect item, the customer must record the incident on the carrier's Delivery Note. Any damage must be recorded at the time of delivery — failure to report the incident prevents subsequent management of the situation.
It is not possible to change or cancel an order once it has entered processing.
The user has a period of 14 days to return the product if not satisfied, provided that:
•The product has not been used or altered;
• The product retains its original characteristics and the packaging is not completely damaged;
•The product is not a seasonal item (e.g., Christmas);
•The product is complete and properly packaged in the original packaging (all pieces included);
•The printed invoice and return document must be attached. Returns can be made in three ways:
•Central Warehouse — send to: DHL Supply Chain, Plataforma Logística de Palmela 6, Quinta da Marquesa, 2950-677 Quinta do Anjo, Portugal. Shipping costs are the customer's responsibility.
•In-Store Return — at any Gato Preto store (except Freeport Outlet in Alcochete), upon presentation of the return document and a copy of the invoice.
•Home Pickup — available for products exclusively delivered to the home, with an associated cost.
The refund will be processed within a maximum of 14 days after receipt of the items at the store or warehouse. Original shipping costs will only be refunded in case of manufacturing defect.
If within 30 days of receipt the user detects any manufacturing defect, they may return the product following the procedures described in section 8.2.
Refunds will be made using the same payment method used for the order. In case of payment by Multibanco Reference, the refund will be by bank transfer, and the user must provide their IBAN. The refund will be made within a maximum of 14 business days after receipt of the product or cancellation of the purchase.
The warranty is valid from the date of purchase for 2 years, upon presentation of the invoice. Products used improperly or mishandled by the user are excluded. To claim the warranty, contact Gato Preto through the online form or at one of the stores.
The specific conditions of each campaign (eligibility, duration, exclusions) will be detailed on the respective campaign page. Campaigns and promotional codes are valid exclusively for purchases on this site.
CONFORT24 LDA may, at any time and without prior notice, change these conditions by publishing them on the website. Validation of an order after these changes means acceptance by the user.
CONFORT24 LDA, as the technical operator of the platform, is not responsible for the quality, compliance, or warranty of the products, a responsibility that lies exclusively with Gato Preto as the seller. CONFORT24 LDA will only be responsible for the proper technical functioning of the payment and order management platform.
The user authorizes the processing of personal data provided by the purchase order, under the terms set out in our Privacy Policy.
