The GROU collection is inspired by the Asian bird Grou, which is traditionally represented in origami, allied to oriental tradition.
We used this as the main symbol of the collection because there are several superstitions, legends and meanings associated with it, such as the fact that it represents peace at home and health for the family.
In Japan, it is believed that folding 1,000 origami tsurus (grou) with the mind directed towards a need, guarantees the wish come true.
Allied to this representation of what is an oriental visual icon, we also joined a Japanese textile tradition that consists in manipulating a fabric as if it were a paper origami, thus creating a completely unusual and original texture that mixed with traditional textures balance the collection.
