WARRANTY EXTENSION

A WARRANTY EXTENSION is granted and recognized by GATO PRETO for the covered items (selected Sofas and Armchairs - Made in Portugal), provided that these Terms and Conditions are fully complied with. The products covered are those of the GATO PRETO brand, purchased in Portugal or Spain, at duly authorized points of sale. The WARRANTY EXTENSION does not affect the general rights of the purchaser during the general legal period.

With the WARRANTY EXTENSION service, GATO PRETO is responsible for:

1. Repairing, replacing, or refunding any possible non-conformities that appear in the covered items during the specified period;

2. Guaranteeing the labor and necessary travel for all interventions carried out by GATO PRETO as a result of a non-conformity(*);

3. Providing original replacement parts used during interventions carried out by GATO PRETO as a result of a non-conformity;

4. In case of impossibility of repair or replacement, the refund of the item's value. The responsibility of GATO PRETO is always limited to the amount paid for the item at the time of purchase.

The Warranty Extension is applicable to selected sofas and armchairs.

Sofas and Armchairs:
> up to €499.99, costs €39.00
> from €500 to €1000, costs €59.00
> above €1000, costs €79.00

This contract begins at the moment of purchase of the items. The EXTENDED WARRANTY is valid, after the expiration of the legal warranty period, for a non-renewable period of ONE YEAR counted in consecutive days from the date the purchased product is made available. After the expiration of the period from delivery, if you wish to exercise the EXTENDED WARRANTY, the customer must prove that the non-conformity already existed beforehand.

To activate the EXTENDED WARRANTY, the customer must present the purchase invoice of the items, along with the EXTENDED WARRANTY contract at any GATO PRETO store or contact our customer support service.

After claim analysis, we repair your sofa or produce new replacement parts. If it is not possible to resolve the issue, we will replace the sofa with an identical or equivalent one. This includes free repair of all material or manufacturing defects of the following components, provided the product has been used normally and properly:

1. Deterioration of upholstery, fillings, and structure.

2. Tearing of seams and springs. Breaking of pistons in drawers.

3. Breaking of mechanisms of sliding seats, reclining backs, or headrests.

4. Breakage of manual and electric relaxation mechanisms.

5. Breakage of opening mechanisms of sofa beds.

 

Applicable exclusions:

1. Shape and volume: The fillings of the seats, backs, and arms of sofas are made of soft materials and may slightly change their width and height during use. Specifically, a loss of 10% of the height of seats and backs and an impression where someone has sat for several hours is considered normal. Settling of materials may cause small waves in the seating, back, and arm areas. This phenomenon is normal as it does not alter the product’s characteristics or comfort in any way.

2. Odors: New products may emit a certain odor during the first days, which gradually disappears and is not harmful.

3. Threads: Threads may appear in the seams made during sofa manufacturing due to the sewing system used. These threads do not in any way prevent optimal use of the product.

4. Theft, robbery, loss, or misplacement of the insured item.

5. Normal use and wear.

6. Deterioration caused by improper use of the insured item.

To terminate the contract, the customer must contact GATO PRETO Customer Service; however, the amount paid for the EXTENDED WARRANTY is non-refundable.

In the case of modular sofas, it is sufficient to select an extended warranty service on one of the modules.

(*) For islands, travel and transport for free repair are not included.
