A design story that began in 2002
In 2026, Gato Preto celebrates 40 years of history. And design by Gato Preto is an important part of that journey.
In 2002, some of the brand's first original design collections emerged, including “Cat Family” and “Cat with a Brush”.
It was the beginning of a language that would continue to evolve over the years: creating pieces with their own identity, reinterpreting references, exploring Portuguese color, patterns, and culture, and bringing objects into the home that do not go unnoticed.
More than two decades after the first Design by Gato Preto collections, this spirit remains present in collections such as Marie, Carrossel, Figo, Black Cat, Blue Bird, Kiosks, and Azulejo.
It is also an expression of what we now call Catitude: homes that mix, choose, and showcase the personality of those who live in them.
